XLR8 Comp Programs provide results driven coaching for junior racers seeking to reach the next level of ski racing.
Our goal is to develop junior racers, physically and mentally, by using a variety of proven ski racing drills and progressive USSA teaching techniques geared towards higher-level racers. Our positive teaching approach leads to strong character, increases self-esteem and instills confidence on and off the hill.
Our feeder program, XLR8 Alpine Racing, has a proven track record of developing young skiers into top state and national JDT ski racers. CUSSA athletes will train in all Alpine disciplines; GS, Slalom, Super G, and Downhill. Skiers are grouped by ability and ski with the same professional coaches throughout the season for consistency and individual attention.
XLR8 Alpine Racing Downstate Comp Team Program: Provides five training sessions a week for the committed racers seeking to reach the next level of ski racing. Coaching at JDT and select USSA races in Michigan’s Lower Peninsula will also be provided to help ensure successful race day experiences. Down State COMP Team members will be eligible for optional XLR8 Northern Michigan training programs.
XLR8 Alpine Racing Full Comp Team Program: Provides five training sessions a week for the serious committed racers looking to maximize their training and racing opportunities. Coaching at JDT and in-state USSA races including races in Marquette, will be provided to help ensure successful race day experiences. Full COMP Team membership also includes optional XLR8 Northern Michigan training programs at no additional charge.
XLR8 Alpine Racing High School Program: Provides results-driven coaching for high school racers seeking to reach the next level of their ski racing. With XLR8 High School training Saturday and Sunday from 9am-noon each day, high school athletes will see serious improvement in their ski racing. We will strengthen fundamental skills and teach advanced Slalom and GS technique and tactics by using a variety of proven ski racing drills and the latest USSA training progressions. Our positive coaching approach promotes strong character, increases self-esteem, and instills confidence on and off the hill. The additional training that Team XLR8’s High School program provides helps to send a dozen racers to the Michigan State Champions each season. We have helped to develop a number of State Champions and put numerous racers on the podium.
